Dedicated to our Communities

America First initiated the Community Assistance Program (CAP) in 1989. The purpose is to enhance our credit union philosophy by raising money to help the homeless and less fortunate in our communities.

Collection boxes are available at each America First location, or you can print a donation slip and return it to us by mail. Through these collection boxes, members can participate by offering cash contributions or direct deposits.

Donations can also be given online by submitting your request through the Web Access messaging system. Tell us the amount you would like to donate, where you would like the funds withdrawn (i.e. savings, checking etc.), and we will transfer the funds for you.

Some organizations the CAP works with include the Ogden Rescue Mission, St. Anne's Shelter, Catholic Community Services, the Cathedral of the Madeleine in Salt Lake City, Christmas Box International, the Assistance League of Salt Lake City, and the SHARE food bank in Ogden.

All proceeds are sent in monthly to the support organizations, which in turn provide job assistance, training, housing, meals, and medical attention to those in need. A statement is sent to our members yearly to keep them informed about the Community Assistance Program and to encourage their contributions.

When donations are made to the Community Assistance Program, members can be assured that every penny is dedicated to the disadvantaged in our communities. Nothing is held back or used for administrative or other purposes.
