Eligible* Business Entity

Sole Proprietorship

The account for a person with exclusive business ownership. Requirements include a Social Security number or Federal Tax Identification Number and the DBA filed with the governing state.

Partnership

This account is appropriate for two or more people contractually associated in a business venture. Requires a Federal Tax Identifiaction Number and a Partnership Agreement. Limited partnership agreements are typically required to be filed the the governing state.

Corporation (For-Profit)

Businesses owned by stockholders fall into this category. Requirements include a Federal Tax Identification Number and Articles of Incorporation filed with the governing state.

Non-Profit Corporation

The account appropriate for an official non-profit corporation. Requires a Federal Tax Identification Number as well as Articles of Incorporation filed with the governing state.

Limited Liability Company (LLC)

The account for a business owned by members. Requirements include a Federal Tax Identification Number as well as Articles of Incorporation filed with the governing state.

Association Accounts

The account type for associations, clubs, as well as religious, charitable and education entities. Requirements include a Federal Tax Identification Number or a Social Security Number.

*A business is eligible for membership if either:

  • All equity owners of the business (stockholders, members, partners, etc.) must be "eligible " for membership or the business itself must be located within the field of membership.
  • At least one of the equity owners of the business must be a signer on the account.

Application must be signed in front of an America First Credit Union employee or be notarized.
