Frequently Asked Questions

Wireless Handheld Banking

How Do I Use Wireless Banking?
You should first check with your service provider to ensure your phone or PDA is enabled for the web and that your service agreement covers wireless service. Then go to wireless.americafirst.com on your cell phone or PDA browser. Just enter your account number and PIN to access your account. It's that simple.

How does America First ensure security between the credit union and my cellular phone or PDA?
We use Secure Socket Layer technology (SSL) from our host server to the wireless carrier's WAP gateway. It is then converted to Wireless Transport Layer Security (WTLS), the wireless implementation of SSL. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for additional information about security.

Do I need any special browser software to access the Internet on my phone?
Your web-enabled cellular phone comes equipped with a preloaded mini-browser, so you don't need special software. Your PDA, however, will need a Palm™ query application (PQA) you can download to your computer from our web site.

How do I bookmark the web site?
Go to the phone's web browser and enter the address. Save this site by referring to your phone's manual. If you use a Windows® CE device, it bookmarks the same as the Internet Explorer on your computer. For PDAs, the bookmark is your Palm™ query application. Once you've downloaded this to your computer and finished the HotSync™ process, your web bookmark is available.

I sometimes have difficulty connecting to the web using my wireless phone. Why?
There are several things that can affect your ability to connect to the Internet: lack of wireless coverage in your immediate area, no available channels for wireless connection, no available wireless Internet connections, and heavy Internet traffic. In any of these situations, wait and try your connection again.

How will wireless phone transfers appear on my statement?
They will appear with a description of "Web Access", followed by the transaction date.

I occasionally receive an internal server error. What does it mean?
The browser on your wireless device has timed out. Simply log off the Internet and log back in to remedy this problem.
