Visa Rewards Terms and Conditions

Program Terms and Conditions

  1. Eligibility is restricted to members of America First Credit Union with an AFCU Platinum Visa account in good standing.
  2. Cardholders earn one point per dollar net purchases (purchases minus returns) rounded to the nearest whole dollar. Points will not be given for balance transfers, cash advances, or any fees and finance charges to the account.
  3. Points are non-transferable and have no cash value. Points cannot be redeemed for cash or credit to the cardholders' account.
  4. Points will expire five years from the end of the month in which they were earned.
  5. Accounts must be open and in good standing in order for points to be redeemed. All outstanding points will be forfeited upon closure of the account.
  6. Points will begin to be accrued upon the account's enrollment in the program. Please allow up to seven business days for approval and enrollment. Points will not be given retroactively for purchases made prior to enrollment.
  7. Points from multiple credit card accounts cannot be combined.
  8. America First Credit Union reserves the right to alter, suspend, or cancel the program at any time without notice.

Travel Awards Terms and Conditions

Selected cities apply to the following destinations:

  1. Destinations in Canada are limited to Vancouver, B.C.; Calgary and Edmonton, Alberta: Toronto and Ottawa, Ontario; and Montreal, Quebec.
  2. Destinations in Mexico and the Caribbean are limited to Cancun, Acapulco, Cozumel, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico City, San Juan, P.R., Montego Bay, Grand Cayman, Nassau, Antigua, St. Thomas and Santo Domingo.
  3. Destinations in Europe are limited to London, Frankfurt, Glasgow, Paris, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Oslo, Stockholm, Madrid, Rome, Munich, and Zurich.
  4. Destinations in Asia are limited to Tokyo, Osaka, Seoul, Taipei, Hong Kong, Manila, Bangkok, and Singapore.
  5. Destinations in Central and South America are limited to Caracas, Venezuela; Lima, Peru; San Jose, Costa Rica; Bogota, Columbia; Buenos Aires, Argentina; Santiago, Chile; Sao Paulo, Brazil; and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
  6. Destinations in South Pacific are limited to Pago Pago, American Samoa;  Papeete, Tahiti; Guam, American Territory.
  7. Destinations in the Middle East are limited to Tel Aviv, Israel; Amman, Jordan; Istanbul, Turkey.
  8. Destinations in Africa are limited to Cape Town, South Africa; Johannesburg, South Africa; Lagos, Nigeria; Casablanca, Morocco; Nairobi, Kenya; Durban, South Africa.
  9. Destinations in Australia are limited to Sydney, Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane; and in New Zealand to Wellington, Auckland and Christchurch.
  10. Destinations for Inter-Island Hawaii are between any of the following destinations:  Lihue, Kawai; Hilo, Hawaii; Kona, Hawaii; Kahului, Maui; Honolulu, Oahu; Kaunakakai, Molokai;  Lanai City, Lanai.

All Airline Awards are subject to the following terms and conditions:

  1. To redeem points for travel awards call: 1-877-809-5598.  Hours of operation for travel redemptions are from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM MST Monday - Friday and 11:00 to 4:00 PM MST Saturdays .  These hours of operation exclude the following holidays: New Years Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the Friday following, and December 24th and 25th.
  2. Major scheduled air carriers availability for ticketing via a Computer Reservation System (“CRS”) will be utilized to fulfill awards, with carrier selected for each itinerary at the discretion of the travel reservation center.  However, the travel reservation center will use its best efforts to accommodate cardholder specific requests for a specific carrier.
  3. Reservations must be made 21 days in advance of travel.
  4. Saturday night stay is required.
  5. All air travel must be on the same airline carrier.  This may include a carrier’s commuter or regional airlines, with a common designator code – typically carrying the colors and logo of the mainline carrier (e.g. American Airlines and American Eagle are both coded AA).  However, does not include flights which are marketing arrangements using a dual or multiple code share facility.
  6. Travel for U.S. domestic and for all international flights originating in the 48 U.S. states must be on a U.S. based airline carrier only.
  7. There must be seat availability in the 21 day advance purchase fare categories for the itinerary requested.  The agent will attempt to provide the flights closest to the needs of the cardholder, however, there could be times where the agent will recommend flights and routings other than what has been requested due to the availability of.  However, the agent will use its best efforts to accommodate cardholder specific requests.
  8. Tickets are non-refundable unless permitted by the terms of the fare issued and cannot be exchanged for cash or credit.  In addition to any published airline charges, a fee will be charged to refund or cancel tickets.  The Cardholder will be asked for a credit card number to bill this cancellation fee.
  9. En route stopovers are not permitted unless they are to make direct connections.
  10. Minimum or maximum stays may apply to certain fare categories. All return travel must be initiated within thirty (30) days of original departure date.
  11. Tickets are for coach class service only, unless otherwise indicated.
  12. Award redemptions will be permitted two (2) connections for each direction of travel (outbound and return).  For example: if traveling from New York City to Flagstaff, Arizona, the traveler could fly New York to Dallas, Dallas to Phoenix and Phoenix to Flagstaff (the 2 connection points being Dallas and Phoenix in this example).
  13. Maximum Ticket Values apply to all airline awards. Airline award amounts exceeding Maximum Ticket Value will be the Cardholder's responsibility and charged to the Cardholder's Program credit card at the time of redemption.
  14. Each award ticket may be subject to a ticketing processing charge according to the award program rules.
  15. Companion tickets may be purchased for a $25.00 service fee with a maximum of $50.00 per booking.

$100 Off Travel Credit

There is a $100 Travel Credit toward airline tickets or land vacation packages only, with a service fee of $25.00. This is to be used as a credit towards the purchase of airline tickets or vacation packages of greater value. Reservations must be booked through the Award Travel Reservation Center, using the Program Credit Card.  There is no limit to the number of $100 Travel Credits that a cardholder can apply towards their purchase.  Credits must be used in $100 increments and points must be available at the time of booking.  Any amount of credit taken over the cost of the reservation will have no cash value. Other fees and conditions may apply.

  • For airline tickets the credit will be taken at the point of sale.
  • For Vacation packages, the credit will be taken at full or final payment.

Airline Ticket Exception

If you would like to redeem points for tickets outside the standard program rules (i.e. waive the Saturday night stay or 21 day advance purchase) for a domestic airline ticket, then you may redeem 25,000 points for a $300 credit towards the ticket value.  A $25 fee will be charged for this option at the time of booking.  If the airline ticket is less than $300 the cardholder will not receive the difference.

Cruise Program Terms & Conditions

Rates are cruise only, per person, based on double occupancy, and subject to availability at time of booking.  Some holiday blackout dates and other restrictions may apply. Rates/cabins/offers are capacity controlled, and may change or expire at any time without notice. Airfare and pier-to-ship transfers are additional. Rates include Port Taxes (Port Service Fees). Government taxes and fees (which consist of all taxes and fees imposed by U.S. and foreign governmental and quasi-governmental authorities, including without limitation U.S. Customs and Immigration fees, ship passengers international departure tax, and international arrival and departure taxes) are additional. Not included in these rates: Airfare; gratuities; shore excursions; transfers; medical services; some beverages; certain specialty restaurants; gift shop purchases; casino gaming; beauty salon/barber shop/spa services; laundry; photographs; email or internet; and other items of a personal nature. Cruises are non-refundable and subject to change fees once the reservation has been confirmed. Any changes or cancellations will be assessed a $75 change fee plus any fees or penalties imposed by the Cruise Line. It is the guest's responsibility to obtain visas, passports, and other documentation including vaccinations for infectious diseases. Travel dates are subject to individual cruise lines' schedules and are subject to change without notice. All rates and information printed in this brochure were in effect and valid at the time of publishing and are subject to change without notice. All cruise packages are subject to the terms and condition of the Cruise Line. No credit issued for unused days or inclusions. Other fees and conditions may apply.

Cruise Credit Options

To be used as a credit towards any cruise vacation package of greater value.  The cardholder is responsible for full payment of the package on their Program credit card and reservations must be made through the Award Travel Reservation Center.  When final payment has been applied to the cruise, the cardholder's points will be redeemed and they will receive a credit on their Program credit card for the amount of the cruise, within 60 days. Any amount of credit taken over the cost of the reservation will have no cash value.  No credit issued for unused days or inclusions. Other fees and conditions may apply.

Land-only Package Terms & Conditions

Package pricing is based on two people traveling together and staying in the same room. Package components are subject to limited availability at the time of booking. Reservations must be made at least 21 days in advance.  Some holiday blackout dates and other restrictions may apply. Airfare is additional. Transfers, meals, gratuities, and any other items of a personal nature not listed in package inclusions are not included. Package is non-refundable and subject to change fees once reservation has been confirmed. Any changes will be assessed a $75 change fee plus any fees or penalties imposed by the hotel and/or rental car company. Participating hotels are subject to change without notice. If a rental car is included, the rate does not include fuel, insurance coverage, taxes, governmentally-authorized or imposed surcharges, license and concession recoupment fees, airport facility fees, additional driver fees, one-way rental charge or other optional items. Renter must meet standard age, driver and credit requirements. No credit issued for unused days or inclusions. Other fees and conditions may apply

Distinctive Departures Terms and Conditions

Package is for two people traveling together, sharing one room and is subject to change and limited availability. Includes, roundtrip coach class airfare for two from most continental U.S. gateways to selected destination on board a scheduled US carrier, including air taxes.  Some holiday blackout dates apply. A 21-day advance purchase and a Saturday night stay are required. Once reserved, the package is non-refundable. If allowed, any changes will be assessed a $75 change fee plus any applicable airline, hotel and/or rental car company penalties or fees. Air carrier used is at discretion of travel agency. Participating hotels are subject to change without notice. Rental cars do not include fuel, taxes, surcharges, recoupment fees, insurance coverage or any other optional items. Standard rental car driver, credit and age requirements apply. No credit issued for unused days or inclusions. Other restrictions may apply.

Rental Car Voucher Terms & Conditions

Present and surrender original certificate at time of rental at participating Avis or Budget locations worldwide. Any rental charges exceeding the value of the certificate is the responsibility of the renter, and must be presented at time of rental. Renter must agree to and sign Avis or Budget's standard rental agreement in order to use the certificate. The cost of the rental will be based on the standard Avis or Budget rates in effect at the time of reservation at the location where the certificate is presented. Renters must meet Avis or Budget's driver credit and age requirements. Certificate possession does not guarantee a rental and is not a confirmation of a reservation. Multiple certificates may be used at one time. Certificate is non-refundable, non-transferable and only original certificates will be accepted. Lost or stolen certificate will not be replaced and Avis and Budget are not responsible if it is honored thereafter. Certificate will only be honored up to the value shown. Rental of a vehicle with this certificate is not authorized for a period of more than thirty days and any charges over the value must be paid at the time of rental. Hotel Award Terms & Conditions

Awards are valid at participating locations as listed on each certificate, and are not valid where restricted by law. Advance reservations are required, subject to availability at time of booking. The cardholder is responsible for making their own reservation. Guest must present and surrender the award at check-in. Award may be used to pay for one room, breakfast for two and related room taxes only, and may not be used to pay for food, beverage, parking, service charges, other taxes, or incidental expenses. Awards are not redeemable for cash and are void if sold for cash or other consideration. No credit issued for unused days or inclusions.  Awards are not replaceable if lost, stolen, destroyed or expired. Any tax liability, including disclosure connected with receipt or use of award is the recipient’s responsibility. Individual locations may blackout certain dates, subject to change and availability. All Hotel Certificates are subject to each company’s terms and conditions as printed on the certificate and will be valid for at least 6 months from the time they are redeemed. Cardholders are responsible to make reservations with each supplier directly as written on each certificate.  No credit issued for unused days or inclusions. Other terms and conditions may apply.

Merchandise and Certificate Fulfillment and Delivery Terms

Ordering your award:

To redeem points for merchandise call: 1-800-310-6250.  Hours of operation for redemptions are from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM MST, Monday – Friday.  These hours of operation exclude the following holidays: New Years Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the Friday following, and December 24th and 25th.

Questions about a Previously Placed Order:

When phoning inquiries to Participant Services, please include the following information:

  • Your name and address, city, state and ZIP code.
  • A daytime and evening phone number.
  • E-mail address if applicable.
  • Your sponsoring company (America First Credit Union), the catalog item number in question and your order number, so that we may expedite your request.

Printing errors occasionally occur.  We reserve the right to reject an order if the point requirements are printed incorrectly. We reserve the right to change, without notice, the points required for individual items.

Shipment of your award:

Stock

  1. Most stock items will be shipped from our Distribution Center within 3-5 business days from the time your order is received.  If an item is temporarily back ordered, you will be advised of an estimated delivery date.
  2. Because we cannot always ship all items ordered together in one shipment, you may receive several shipments from different distribution centers to complete your order.

Direct from Supplier Shipments

  1. You will receive a delivery schedule on all direct ship items. Ordinarily these items require 3-6 weeks for delivery, however, specialty products such as furniture, may require a longer delivery time.

General Information

  1. When an item is not expected to ship within the estimated time frame, you will be advised of the new anticipated delivery date.
  2. To support the life of any publication, product substitutions may become necessary.  If an item is discontinued, we may substitute an item of equal or greater value.  If a suitable substitute is not available, we will give you the opportunity to make an alternative selection.
  3. Most large items are shipped via common carrier truck-lines who will provide curbside delivery.
  4. Installation and unpacking of items, including major appliances, is not included.

Receiving your award:

Large Freight Items

  1. Before signing for a shipment, be sure to check the carton(s). Be certain all cartons on the delivery receipt are in GOOD CONDITION.  Be sure to note carton quantities & condition on both the original delivery receipt and the copy.  If major damage is evident, please refuse the shipment and contact Participant Services as soon as possible.

Airborne Ground Service/Parcel Post

  1. Accept delivery of all Airborne Ground Service or Parcel Post packages.  If damage is evident, contact Participant Services as soon as possible.

General Information

  1. Retain all cartons and packaging materials in case damage is discovered after delivery.  Contact Participant Services immediately.  We will make arrangements to correct the problem.
  2. All awards are shipped prepaid.  If the carrier charges you for the delivery of your merchandise, please contact Participant Services immediately.  If you wish, you may pay the charge, note the charges on the freight bill accordingly and submit to Participant Services for prompt reimbursement. Please keep a copy of the freight bill for your records.

Returns

  1. If you are not satisfied with your award for any reason, simply call Participant Services within 10 days from your receipt of the award.  We will work with you to provide a replacement or return authorization and instructions or help arrange for warranty and repair information.

When Preparing Your Award For Return

  1. Use the return label and form provided on the back of your packing slip.
  2. Pack the award in the original packing material.

Manufacturer's Warranty Information

Most merchandise is covered by a manufacturer's warranty.  Please retain your packing slip as proof of purchase.  For extended warranties or product-specific inquiries or repair, you may call the manufacturer
