WEST JORDAN, UT—The Greater Good, an employee service arm of America First Credit Union, will be making blankets today to benefit local children associated with the Salt Lake chapter of Project Linus.

Becoming “blanketeers” for a day, approximately, 40 employees will gather, beginning at 7:30 a.m., at the America First West Jordan Branch to work on the blankets.

Employees are from two of The Greater Good service areas—Salt Lake North and South—and work in America First’s West Jordan, West Jordan Macey’s, Kearns Harmons, and the West Valley Wal-Mart branches.

Through Project Linus, blankets are collected locally and distributed to children in hospitals, shelters, social service agencies, or anywhere that a child might be in need.

“We are grateful to The Greater Good employees who continue to work with wonderful organizations like Project Linus,” said John Lund, America First President and CEO. “Our employees who volunteer in addition to their work hours are reaping the great rewards that come to those who follow the credit union social philosophy of People Helping People.”

ABOUT PROJECT LINUS
With chapters in all 50 states, Project Linus continues to grow. The mission of Project Linus is two-fold. First, provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets, lovingly created by volunteer “blanketeers.” Second, provide a rewarding, fun service opportunity for individuals and groups in local communities. Blankets are collected locally and distributed to children in hospitals, shelters, social service agencies, or anywhere that a child might be in need of a big hug.
