Welcome to the America First family! It is our goal to make your transition to America First as smooth as possible, which is why we've compiled a list of answers to questions you may have below.


No. Once your account is converted to an America First account, you will no longer be able to access your Altier account.

Direct deposits such as Social Security, payroll and pensions will continue posting to your new account.

Yes. You can access your previous Altier monthly statements in Online Banking at

Yes. Simply log in to Online or mobile Banking and select the Transfers option. You will need the account number and last name of the receiving account.

Once your account conversion is completed, your loan payments and deposits should be mailed to:

No. However, using America First ATMs is always free of charge. In addition, America First participates in the CO-OP network which provides access to over 36,000 fee-free ATMs nationwide. To find the no-fee ATM location closest to you, please visit or call 1-888-748-3266.

Your IRA account will not change; however, you will be asked to provide updated account documents.  These will be mailed to you, complete with supporting information and instructions. Tax notices for the 2019 tax year will come from America First and will include tax information for the entire year.

Yes, with a small timing difference. Automatic distributions processed on the first of the month by Altier will now be posted on the last day of the month by America First. For example, a distribution scheduled for August 1st at Altier will now be processed July 31st at America First. Members with scheduled distributions for January 1st will be contacted by our Deposit Products department.

No. Like Altier, America First does not participate in any shared branching programs.


Once your account has converted, any checks drawn on your Altier checking account will clear through your new America First account.

During the account conversion process, you will have the opportunity to order a new box of America First checks for free. While your old Altier checks will continue to clear, we would encourage you to begin using your new America First checks. For peace of mind, you may drop off your old Altier checks at any America First location and we will securely dispose of them.

Yes. If funds are unavailable in your checking account, only your Line of Credit will be used as overdraft protection on the America First checking account.  Funds will not be transferred from your savings to cover any overdrafts.

America First does not offer Kasasa or Plus Checking rewards programs. Your checking account will be converted to an America First checking account, which includes:

  • Mobile payments - pay with your smartphone
  • ABC Deals™ - cash back for using your America First Visa®
  • Card Guard® - protect your account and control your purchases
  • Free Picture Perfect™ - personalize the image on your cards 


Once your account conversion is complete, any pending Altier debit/credit card or ATM transactions will clear through your America First account.

No. The America First Visa® debit and credit cards included in your conversion packet will be activated as part of your account conversion. Once this occurs, your Altier debit and credit cards will no longer work.

If you have automatic or recurring payments being made with your Altier debit or Visa credit card, after account conversion you will need to contact these companies and provide them with your new America First card number.

Any unexpired points you have earned at Altier will transfer to your new America First Visa Rewards card at the time of your account conversion. These points will expire five years from the date they are converted.


Yes, scheduled transfers will be set up on your America First account as part of your account conversion.

If you have automatic or recurring ACH transactions being debited from or credited to your Altier account, they will automatically occur in your America First account after your account conversion is completed.

Incoming ACH loan payments will automatically post to your new account at America First.

External transfers will need to be reestablished at America First. This can be done through Online Banking at

Any payroll deductions previously set up at Altier will continue posting to your America First account.

As an important first step to convert your account to America First, we will be converting your automatic disbursements to scheduled transfers. America First systems will soon be used to process these transfers. No action is required on your part. The new scheduled transfers will be setup on a set date and frequency to match closely with the same frequency of your current automatic deposits and distributions. Scheduled loan payments will not be affected by this change.


Members can log in to Online Banking at or through the America First Credit Union Mobile Banking app, which is free to download from the App Store and Google Play. For your first login, you will need your America First account number and Personal Identification Number (PIN). During this initial login, you will be required to create a password which will be used in future logins. If you would like to use this service but don’t have a PIN, you may request one at any America First branch or by calling 1-800-999-3961.

Bill Pay information and history will be transferred to your America First account, so you won’t miss a beat paying your bills. Bill Pay can be accessed in Online Banking at

During the account conversion process, you will have the opportunity to enroll in America First’s paperless statement program. Monthly statements can be viewed in Online Banking at

Yes. Simply log in to Online Banking using the PIN that was sent to you or the password you created, then click the Other Services tab and select Change/Request PIN in the Account Security section. Note: You will need the original PIN mailed to you to complete this function. If you do not have that PIN, you should visit an America First branch to change your PIN or request a PIN reminder.
