As the number & complexity of consumer scams continues to grow, America First is making significant strides in efforts to better protect our members. If you receive a call, text, or email you think is fraudulent, please forward it to phishing@americafirst.com.
The following are some guidelines to help ensure your security.
Be careful installing apps or software—messages from unknown senders with prompts and links to download should be treated with skepticism.
Never pay over the phone if you didn’t initiate the call—scammers will present themselves as representatives of financial institutions, email providers, merchants and more, telling you a balance is owed or payment is due. Don’t respond.
Always verify—when in doubt, contact the company sending the message and seek details about any transaction they propose.
Be wary of false urgency—legitimate enterprises will not pressure you to act now.
Remember—America First will not send you a text, email, or a call to ask for your account number, PIN, or other sensitive information. Please visit americafirst.com/security for more information.
